Multiple variant designs may be included in one application if the designs relate to the same object and differ only in minor features, or can be identified as a set of goods and have a single design concept.

IGE/IPI only conducts formality examination of design patent applications. No novelty review is performed. Applicants may request a 30-month delay in publication.

INDECOPI conducts formal and substantive examinations of invention patent applications. The form review takes about 60 days. After submitting a patent application, INDECOPI will first check the application in detail for compliance with defense and atomic energy requirements. The applicant shall reply within 30 working days to the notice of form correction issued by the examiner. Failure to respond or an unsuccessful response to the patent application will be deemed abandoned. The response period may be extended to 60 working days. Within 18 months from the date of application after passing the formality examination, INDECOPI will publish the patent application in the Peruvian Official Gazette, and any third party can raise objections within 60 days from the date of publication of the application. If an objection is raised, INDECOPI will start the objection procedure. The applicant must respond to the objection within 60 days. Within 6 months from the publication date, the applicant must file a request for substantive examination and pay relevant fees to enter the final substantive examination.

Reinstatement of Priority Accepted on Unintentional Grounds.

Grant fee: After deciding to grant the patent, the Hungarian Patent Office sends the text of the description, Claim and drawings to the applicant, and the applicant has three months to confirm the text or propose amendments. The granted fee should be paid within 3 months of receiving the granted decision.

Annual Fees: The first annual maintenance fee is due on the date of submission; all subsequent annual fees are due in advance by the due date. The due date for annuity payments is the anniversary of the filing date. Annuitys due before the publication of the application shall be paid within a grace period of 6 months from the date of publication. Annuitys due prior to the grant of a patent granted on the basis of an application deemed to be confidential data may also be paid within a grace period of six months from the effective date of the decision to grant the patent, while all other annual fees may also be paid within Payment within a grace period of six months from the due date. There are no surcharges for annuities paid during the first three months of the grace period. From the fourth month onwards, the surcharge is 50%.

UKRPATENT only conducts formality examination of utility model patent applications. The objects protected by utility models are the same as those protected by invention patents (i.e. products, processes, new uses of known products and processes).

The design does not lose its novelty if it is disclosed by the designer in Japan within 12 months from the filing date/priority date.

The novelty grace period is 6 months before the filing date/priority date.

PRH conducts formality examination and substantive examination of invention patents. In Finland, the substantive examination of patent applications starts automatically without filing a specific request. Generally, it takes 8 months for PRH to issue the first office action notification, and the applicant needs to reply to the office action within 2-4 months. Patent granted can be obtained if the granted conditions are met.
