A 12-month novelty grace period is available if:

The DGIP conducts formal and substantive examinations of utility model patent applications.

• via Paris Convention : 12 months from earliest priority date.
• via Nationalization of PCT : 30 months from the earliest priority date.
• Validation of European Patent in EPO member states: 3 months from the date of European patent grant.

OSIM conducts formality examination and substantive examination of design patent applications. The quality of the exterior design pictures must be guaranteed, and OSIM only accepts pictures or paper copies in .gif format. Applicants may apply for a deferment of publication, but not later than 30 months after the filing date. Within two months after publication, any third party may raise objections and provide evidence, and OSIM will convey the third-party public opinions to the applicant, and the applicant shall reply within two months from receiving the notification. Within three months of the objection being filed, OSIM will issue a report agreeing or denying the objection, which will be considered in the substantive examination.

The novelty grace period is 6 months before the filing date/priority date.

For innovation patents that have ceased application on August 25, 2021, the innovation patents that have been applied for can still enjoy the corresponding 8-year protection period.

ROSPATENT conducts formality examination and substantive examination of the design patent application. The applicant should submit the examination request and pay the corresponding fees together with the new application, and try not to submit color renderings.

Design applications in Hungary are examined automatically by the Office. The review process includes formal review and substantive review. The patent office will also conduct a novelty search and send the results to the applicant.

• Grant fee: Authorization official fee should be paid within 2 months after receiving the granted notice.
• Annuity: should be paid after the patent is granted in Thailand. If the patent has been issued, the first annual fee should be paid within 60 days after the start of the fifth year of the patent validity period.

INPI only conducts a formality examination of the invention patent application, but still needs to pay the search fee within one month from the filing date and conduct a search by the EPO, and the search result does not affect the granted result.
