yes. For an invention with the same subject matter, the applicant may file a patent type conversion request within 2 months from the date of receiving the patent application decision, but no later than 10 years from the application date, and change the patent type from invention to utility model .

The BPO conducts formal and substantive examinations of invention patent applications. The BPO will complete the formality examination within 1 month from the filing date, and then the BPO will verify the Certified Priority Document and its related fees, and will conduct a preliminary substantive examination and unity examination of the patent application within 3 months after the end of the preliminary examination. A patent application that has paid the search fee and publication fee is published within 18 months from the filing date/priority date, and the opposition period is 3 months from the publication date. Search reports, written opinions on patentability and third-party opinions will be conveyed to the applicant no later than 6 months after the expiration of the 3-month opposition period. The novelty grace period in Hungary is 6 months before the filing date if disclosure occurs:

- due to abuse of the rights of the applicant or his predecessors;
- because the applicant or the predecessor of the right holder has exhibited the invention at an exhibition duly recognized by the Hungarian Intellectual Property Office.

DGIP only conducts formality examination of the design application, and after the examination, it will be published and enter a 3-month opposition period. Only in the case of an opposition, substantive examination takes place within six months of the opposition closing.

ICPR conducts formality examination and substantive examination of invention patents. Once the application for an invention patent is submitted, if the application documents are complete, ICPR will issue a notice of formal and legal review to formally accept the application. After passing the formality examination, ICPR will issue a payment notice for substantive examination within 90 days. According to the agreement between ICPR and the Korean Patent Office, the Korean Patent Office will conduct substantive examination of the application submitted through the UAE Patent Office.
