According to MaxVal statistics, in 2023, the countries and regions with the largest number of invention patent applications in the world are: China, the United States, Japan, South Korea, Germany, Europe, Australia, India, Taiwan, Canada, Italy and Russia. Among them, China continues to lead other countries in the world with 769,518 authorized patents. The 261,899 authorized invention patents in the United States only account for about one-third of China's authorized invention patents.
In China, the top 20 companies with authorized patents are: State Grid, Sinopec, Huawei, Tencent, Baidu, OPPO, South China University of Technology, BOE, Gree Electric, University of Science and Technology of China, Haier Smart Home, Zhejiang University, China Mobile, Inspur Suzhou Company , Ping An Technology, Samsung Electronics, Tianjin University, Tsinghua University, Guangdong University of Technology and Xi'an Jiaotong University.
From the perspective of patent authorization areas, 88.8% of China's authorized patents come from domestic patents, 3.7% of Japan's authorized patents come from home countries, 2.6% of the United States, 1.4% of South Korea, and 1% of Germany.
From a technical perspective, China's patent application technology areas are mainly concentrated in: industry and product processing, climate change-related technologies, new materials, logistics, green energy, clean energy, printed circuits, storage technology, data transmission technology, and plastic molding technology , diagnostic/surgical identification, battery, machine tool processing, etc.
