Currently, the Kuwait Patent Office does not initiated examination for patent applications. However, applications filed in Kuwait are officially considered evidence of patent right and priority and will be valid when the commencement of examination. From January 2023, patent applications in Kuwait can be filed through the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).

Annuity should be paid at the beginning of each year and after the year of filing the patent application, that is, from January 1st to March 31st of each year.

National Phase of PCT: The payment starts from the 2nd year after the international filing date of the PCT application, and the time is at the beginning of each year, that is, from January 1st to March 31st of each year.
