For a long time, antiquity and romance have been synonymous with Denmark. It has the oldest amusement park in the world - Bakken Amusement Park, Kronborg Palace, the real place where Ontha's famous drama "The Revenge of the Prince" took place, and the sea record. The Hans Christian Andersen Museum of fairy tales including The Little Match Girl, The Snow Queen and many other fairy tales. Now Denmark has a new label, that is, "European Robot Valley". Denmark is one of Europe's major robotics innovation centers. According to the "Odense Robotics Insights Report 2022", Denmark's robotics, automation and drone industry generated a turnover of 2.8 billion euros in 2021 and is expected to reach 2.8 billion euros by 2025. Annual turnover can reach 5 billion euros.
Denmark's robotics industry is dominated by the Odense ecosystem. Odense is Denmark's third largest city and was once famous as Andersen's hometown. Today it has become the center of the robotics industry in Denmark and even Europe, with the world's most advanced robot industry cluster. In this city with a population of less than 180,000 and an area of just over 300 square kilometers, there are more than 120 robot companies gathered, including the famous Universal Robots (UR), MiR and Blue Ocean Robotics. ) are located here. Odense was once the largest shipbuilding base in Denmark. Although the later shipbuilding industry fell into decline due to fierce competition from Asian counterparts, its excellent manufacturing infrastructure and technical capabilities provided opportunities and conditions for the development of the robotics industry. The Danish government also strongly supports the development of the robot industry. Odense launched a robot accelerator program in 2015 to provide funds and services to companies in the early stages. According to statistics, from January 2015 to June 2020 alone, the number of robots in Denmark was The total investment in robotics and automation start-ups reached 170 million euros, with the vast majority of funds going into the Odense industrial cluster, ranking fourth in Europe in terms of investment scale. This shows that there is a broad market prospect for research on technologies related to the robot industry in Denmark.
