USPTO plans to open Southeast Examination Center, new community offices

The USPTO is currently seeking input on the establishment of a regional office in the southeastern region of the United States as well as the establishment of four new community offices under the American Innovators Emancipation Act of 2022 (UAIA).

Under the bill, the United States would establish new Southeastern Review Centers over the next three years in Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana and Arkansas provides intellectual property services and conducts investigations regarding office location, planning and design for the USPTO to make decisions. In addition, the USPTO is opening a new community office in the northern New England states to better serve the region's innovators.

This is a specific measure taken by newly appointed USPTO Director Kathi Vidal to promote innovation to the market.
