Turkey changes "Non-Use Cancellation" from court procedure to administrative procedure

Starting from January 10, 2024, the Turkish Patent Office "TÜRKPATENT" will become the only administrative agency to decide on trademark cancellation based on "non-use of the trademark." The trademark cancellation procedure will be changed from the original court procedure to an administrative procedure. Similarly, TÜRKPATENT has The right to rule to cancel the registered trademark in whole or in part. However, the trademark owner can still object to the decision of this procedure to a specialized intellectual property court.
