How long does it take for a Romanian invention patent application to be granted?

  • 20 years

    • Grant fee: The applicant shall pay within 2 months after receiving the announcement of the patent granted decision.
    • Annual Fee: An annual fee is paid every 5 years.
    • Grant fee: The applicant needs to pay within 4 months after receiving the announcement of the patent granted decision, and pay the annual fee at the time of granted at the same time.
    • Annuity: The annual fee is paid year by year starting from the third year from the application date. Overdue annual fee can be paid within a grace period of 6 months, and a penalty of 0.5 euros should be paid at the same time.
  • Accept the restoration of priority, and consult OSIM for specific standards.
