IP Australia will soon upgrade its online service system to merge and integrate with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) ePCT system. The upgraded online system will allow PCT applications entering the Australian national phase to download the latest information and related documents with a WIPO number or PCT application.
This update will include the following:
- When a PCT application enters the Australian national phase, real-time application data will be presented via an online service.
- Applicant name and address, inventor and application title will automatically be recorded in the same format as WIPO records.
This means that applicants will receive acceptance notices faster, thereby improving user experience.
