Effective July 1, 2023, the Swiss Intellectual Property Office (IPI) has revised certain fees related to the registration and maintenance of trademarks.

From July 1, 2023, the fee for applying for a trademark with the IPI will be reduced by approximately 18%, from CHF 550 to CHF 450. In addition, the fee for international trademarks designating Switzerland in up to three categories is reduced by CHF 50.

The Swiss Intellectual Property Office has also implemented an electronic discount of CHF 100, which applies to electronic trademark registration applications.

One year later, on July 1, 2024, the trademark renewal fee will drop from CHF 700 to CHF 550, a decrease of approximately 21%.

The Swiss Intellectual Property Office has implemented fee reductions following a successful commercial financial year in 2022-2023 and is likely to attract more applications to the jurisdiction.
