Patent and trademark fees in Mozambique rise sharply

According to Law 154/2023 passed by Mozambique, official fees for some patents and trademarks in Mozambique will increase significantly from February 26, 2024.

Among the trademark registration fees:

• The transfer filing fee has increased from US$20 per category to US$196 per category;
• The address change fee will not increase from US$15 per category to US$75 per category;

Among the patent application costs:

• The patent application fee has increased from US$97 to US$190;

At the same time, a new fee type was added:

• Late filing of declaration of intent to use fee.
