USPTO releases examiner training materials: How to search in FDA and NIH databases

To ensure that biotechnology and pharmaceutical inventions are reliably granted, the USPTO has developed training materials on searching prior art in the FDA and National Institutes of Health (NIH) databases. These materials show examiners in detail how to search the FDA and NIH databases for drugs, molecular formulas, and treatment methods. This is the result of close collaboration between the USPTO and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on many collaborative initiatives.
