Iraq's new trademark law will come into effect on April 4, 2024

Iraq has implemented the new trademark law since April 4, 2024. According to the relevant provisions of the new trademark law, trademark registration fees and trademark application fees must be paid at the same time.

In addition, if you apply to register a Class 5 trademark in Iraq (pharmaceutical and veterinary preparations and sanitary preparations for medical purposes), you must submit a certified copy of the trademark registration certificate or any equivalent document from a foreign country to the Iraqi Trademark Office, and the document must also be authenticated by the Iraqi consulate.
