New Regulations on Classification of Goods and Services for Trademark Registration in Türkiye

The latest version of the Turkish Classification of Goods and Services for Trademark Registration was published in the Official Gazette on December 20, 2024 and came into effect on the same day. The main changes include:

• Added to Class 9: Cryptocurrency (software); Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs)
• Added under a separate subclass in Class 9: artificial intelligence robots, laboratory robots, educational robots, security monitoring robots
• Added to Class 12: Drones and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs)
• Added to Class 37: Electric vehicle charging services
• Added to Class 37: Rental of portable charging devices for electric vehicles
• Add to Class 41: Life coaching services
• Add to Class 42: Professional land vehicle services
• Added to Class 45: Astrology and spiritual counseling

This version reflects significant updates, in particular the incorporation of recent technological advances, particularly in the field of information technology, into the practice of the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office.
