The 2025 annual implementation statement must be submitted by September 30, 2025

According to new regulations announced by the Indian Intellectual Property Office in Notice No. 9 of 2024, please note that, except for existing patents, for patents expiring in the fiscal year 2024-2025, an annual statement of working status (Form 27) must be submitted. This only covers the remaining fiscal years 2023-2024 and 2024-2025. The normal window for submitting Form 27 is from April 1, 2025, to September 30, 2025, and no automatic extension will be granted after the deadline.

Under Section 131(2) of the Indian Patents Act, the deadline for filing Form 27 can be extended on request up to December 31, 2025. It can be further extended up to March 31, 2026, under Rule 138 of the Patents Rules.
