Playing with Patents: Patent Identification PART5

Our journey of patent identification is coming to an end. Looking back on the past content, we have learned from Europe, America, Japan, Hande (patent identification for playing with patents), French, English, Russian and Italian waves (patent identification for playing with patents//PART2), Austria Heyixin, Matai (the page number teaches you how to identify the invention type from the application numbers of various countries, the third issue), Indonesia, the Philippines, Vietnam, India and the United Arab Emirates (the page number teaches you how to identify the invention type from the application numbers of each country, the fourth issue) ).
Today we will continue to look at the patent coding situation in Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Canada, Mexico and Brazil.

No. 21[Saudi Arabia]

The Saudi patent application number has a simple and rough structure:

[9-digit patent application serial number]

No. 22[Türkiye]

The patent application number format currently adopted in Türkiye is also very simple:

【4-digit AD Year】+【/】+【6-digit patent application serial number】

In view of the fact that Turkish is relatively small for everyone, the editor organizes the document codes of Turkish documents into a table to share with you.

No. 23[Canada]

Before the law was amended in 1987, Canada adopted the method of arranging patent application numbers and document numbers according to their respective serial numbers, and the total number of application numbers ended at 470825.

In 1987, Canada made major revisions to its national patent law. Starting from No. 2,000,001, the patent application number, publication number and granted announcement number share a serial number, so the status of the patent application can be clearly seen.

The numbering rules for Canadian patent application numbers are as follows:

[7-digit patent application serial number]

No. 24[Mexico]

The Mexican Industrial Property Institute IMPI adopts three different coding formats for inventions, utility models and industrial designs. The format of the patent application number is:

Invention patent application:

【Mx】+【/】+【a】+【4-digit AD Year】+【/】+【6-digit patent application serial number】

Utility model patent application:

【Mx】+【/】+【u】+【4-digit AD Year】+【/】+【6-digit patent application serial number】

Design patent application:

【Mx】+【/】+【f】+【4-digit AD Year】+【/】+【6-digit patent application serial number】

Example:

MX/a/2011/001431: Patent Application for Invention

MX/u/2011000458: utility model patent application

MX/f/2012/003119: Design patent application

The Mexican patent application publication number is the same as the application number, but the Mexican authorized patent publication number is numbered separately, and the coding rules are as follows:

【MX】+【Serial Number】+【B】

Example:

MX317756B; MX3018B; MX40987B

No.25[Brazil]

After January 2012, Brazil's patent application number encoding method was reset according to the latest ST. Check code" method is no longer used. (Old numbers like: "PI 0101161-8" "MU 6900960-0" "MI 5500233 - 1").

At present, the encoding method of patent application number adopted by Brazil is the same as that of most other countries in the world, namely:

[BR] + [12-digit patent application serial number] + [inspection code]

In view of the fact that the official language of Brazil is Portuguese, the editor codes the document codes used in Brazilian documents for three types, namely: invention patent applications, utility model patent applications and invention supplementary certificates and other patent documents. Organized as follows for your reference:
