Iraq becomes the 155th member state of the PCT system
Starting from November 6, 2023, Iraq COSQC can accept PCT applications. In other words, global patent applicants can enter the Iraqi national phase through the PCT route.
The Iraqi government deposited its instrument of accession to the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) with WIPO on January 31, 2022, making Iraq the 155th member state of the PCT system. Although Iraq was originally scheduled to enter into force the PCT Agreement on April 30, 2022, it has not been officially launched until now.
