Malaysia is a constitutional monarchy located in Southeast Asia. It has 13 states, 3 federal territories, and a total land area of 330,803 square kilometers (127,720 square miles). The territory of Malaysia is divided by the South China Sea into two similarly sized regions: Peninsular Malaysia and East Malaysia (Malaysian Borneo). Peninsular Malaysia shares land and sea borders with Thailand, and has sea borders with Singapore, Vietnam and Indonesia.
