EPO no longer provides confirmed receipts

Starting from February 1, 2024, all paper notifications and decisions of the European Patent Office EPO will no longer contain receipts such as EPO2936, EPO3936, EPO7936, etc. Therefore, applicants will no longer need to confirm receipt of these documents with receipts. Similarly, for application materials received after February 1, 2024, there will no longer be a service to confirm receipt of subsequent paper documents submitted.

However, this will not affect the small number of European patent applications filed on paper. European patent applications filed on paper will still receive a confirmation receipt by mail. For electronic applications, the confirmation receipt will still be the same as before. Sent electronically.

EPO1037, EPO7037 will no longer be used and EPO1038 and EPO7038 forms will be simplified, and the Appeals Board will also adopt a similar approach for postal return receipts.
