TM Checke is an AI tool launched by IP Australia in October 2022 to help trademark registrants check whether the trademark they want to register can be successfully registered. It completed the trial phase on April 30, 2024.
Data shows that since September 2023, 94% of TM Checker users are small and medium-sized enterprises, and more are new to the trademark registration system. From October 2022 to April 2024, of the 6,794 users who applied for trademarks through TM Checker, 4,250 were new customers, indicating that the tool is reaching small businesses that have never used the trademark system.
