Vietnam's Intellectual Property Office IP VIETNAM and Singapore's Intellectual Property Office IPOS have launched an enhanced collaborative search and examination (CS&E) program to provide services for accelerating the examination process of patent applications between the two countries. The pilot period of the program will last for two years and end on February 28, 2027.
The program will apply to patent applications that:
- Applicable to all applications filed in Singapore or Vietnam that meet the eligibility criteria, regardless of whether priority is claimed.
- A CS&E report will be received within 10 months of a valid CS&E request.
- Enhance prior art search and examination results.
- If the claims of the priority application sufficiently correspond to the claims examined in the CS&E report, prioritized examination is conducted at the second examining office.
