Fee reduction for patent applications in Poland

If the applicant proves that he is unable to pay the full application fee for an invention, utility model, trademark or industrial design, the PPO may, upon the applicant's request, waive part of the fee. The remaining fee must not be less than 20% of the fee payable.

If an applicant is requesting a waiver of the application fee, it is recommended that the fee waiver request be submitted at the same time as the application is submitted. Upon receipt of the fee waiver request, the PPO will send the applicant a Declaration of Financial Status form, which the applicant should complete and return along with documentation confirming that he or she cannot afford the full application fee. The financial status statement should also state that the data provided is current and consistent with the actual situation on the date the statement is submitted. This will expedite the processing of the fee waiver application.
