Patent search services provided by the Danish Patent Office to applicants

The Danish Intellectual Property Office DKIPO upholds the value of serving customers, which is always present in the way DKIPO works. In DKIPO's working mechanism, dialogue with applicants and pre-examination meetings or post-examination meetings have become DKIPO's working mechanism to improve work efficiency and shorten the examination time. As an international search authority and international preliminary examination authority, DKIPO can also provide applicants with patent search services, including:

• FTO search (Freedom to Operate Search): DKIPO can provide patent applicants with "free to operate search" in a certain technical field to avoid obstacles that hinder patent applicants from developing products. Through FTO search, patent applicants can easily understand which patents and patent applications already exist in the technical field for further research and development and planning.
• Clearance Search: Before launching a new product, it is very useful to know whether the product can be produced and sold without infringing the rights of others. A clearance search can determine indicators of infringement. If the search results show that other rights already exist, the patent applicant can better conduct a risk assessment and avoid unnecessary production costs and any future litigation.
• Validity Search: A validity search can be used to challenge the validity of a patent or patent application.
  

The above search services are all paid items. DKIPO charges according to the examiner's working hours. The hourly rate is: 1400.00 DKK/hour.
