Registration in Pakistan is based on the first-to-use principle. Pakistan's current trademark regulations are mainly based on the "Trademark Regulations" promulgated on April 13, 2001, using the description of goods and services in the 10th edition of the Nice Classification, and do not accept applications for one trademark and multiple categories. In February 2021, Pakistan joined the Madrid System and became the 108th member of the Madrid System. You can apply for registration of product trademarks, series trademarks, joint trademarks, certification trademarks, defensive trademarks and color trademarks such as words, names, graphics, numbers, colors and their combinations. If numbers, letters or their organization are used as trademarks to apply for registration on textiles (categories 22-27), the textiles in these categories are divided into 94 items, and the applicant must submit trademarks according to the items in the 94 items.
