News flash! New practice for annual fee reminder for new New Zealand plant varieties
The New Zealand Patent Office has upgraded the annual fee reminder mechanism for new plant varieties. Starting from November 23, 2023, three months before the annual fee is due, the New Zealand Patent Office will send the first annual fee reminder to patent applicants via email. The second annual fee reminder will be sent again one month before the annual fee period expires. Each notification will detail the annual fee amount, payment date and consequences of failure to pay the annual fee within the deadline.
