Earlier this year, the Austrian Patent Office ATIPO stopped conducting similarity searches for trademark applications submitted on or after June 1, 2023. It is estimated that this step will speed up the trademark registration process by at least 20%.
Changes in trademark procedures were brought about by amendments to the Austrian patent law and demonstrate the modernization of the country's intellectual property field.
