TIPO currently announces that if any applicant has delays in patent or trademark application deadlines due to the earthquake in Japan on January 1, 2024, he or she may apply in accordance with Article 17 of the Patent Law and Article 12 of its Implementing Rules, or Article 8 of the Trademark Law. In accordance with the provisions of Article 9 of the Article and its Implementing Rules, if you submit a request for restoration of rights to TIPO and attach relevant supporting documents, TIPO will, in principle, treat the case leniently on a case-by-case basis.
