In the process of Danish patent application, you can speed up the examination process by submitting a request for accelerated examination, namely PPH request. DKIPO cooperates with patent offices around the world to accelerate the patent application process through the Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH) program. The PPH program enables patent applications to be processed faster and more cost-effectively at patent offices, providing applicants with a faster and lower-cost way to enter the international market.
The PPH program is an administrative procedure agreed upon between patent offices under which patent applications filed in foreign patent offices can enjoy faster patent prosecution if the application has been processed by the prior examining office with a positive outcome.
PPH must meet the following conditions:
- The claims of the prior patent application and the domestic patent application must completely correspond
- The prior patent application and the domestic patent application must have the same earliest priority date
- The previous patent application must have completed the search and examination of the patent application, and the examination result must be positive and active, or the patent has been granted.
PPH Bilateral Agreement:
- Countries that have signed bilateral PPH agreements with DKIPO include: Argentina, Brazil and China.
- Global PPH Network/GPPH: In addition, DKIPO participates in the Global PPH System and has signed Global GPPH agreements with Austria, Canada, Denmark, Estonia, Hungary, Israel, Chile, Peru, Portugal, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Iceland, Japan, South Korea, Norway, Nordic Patent Institute, Poland, Finland, Sweden, Russia, Colombia, Spain, UK, USA and Visegrad Patent Institute.
